Es importante saber pedir y dar instrucciones para llegar a un lugar de destino: ciudad, calle, etc.
- Where is the chemist's?
- ¿Dónde está la farmacia?
- Go straight on and turn left.
- Vaya recto y gire a la izquierda.

2. Asking for directions
Para preguntar acerca de direcciones se utilizan construcciones como las siguientes:

| How (can/do) I get to the station? ¿Cómo se va a la estación? | What's the best way to go to the church? ¿Cuál es el mejor camino para ir a la iglesia? |
Para llamar la atención de alguien que no conocemos utilizamos la expresión excuse me seguida de la oración interrogativa que queramos formular.
Excuse me, how can I get to the bank?
Disculpe, ¿cómo se va al banco?
Excuse me, where is the baker's?
Disculpe, ¿dónde está la panadería?

Para dar instrucciones a alguien para ir a un sitio concreto, generalmente utilizaremos construcciones como las siguientes:
Turn left
Gire a la izquierda
Turn right
Gire a la derecha
Go straight on/ahead
Vaya recto
Go across the street
Cruce la calle
On the corner
En la esquina
Go as far as
Vaya hasta
Go past the
Pase por delante de
Go along the street
Vaya por esta calle
Go up the street
Suba por esta calle
Go down the street
Baje por esta calle
Take the 1 st/2 nd/3 rd turning on the right
Coja la 1ª/2ª/3ª calle a la derecha
Take the 1 st/2 nd/3 rd turning on the left
Coja la 1ª/2ª/3ª calle a la izquierda
